This week, West Michigan kayaking club continues our Shiawassee River Adventure Series with Part 3!

Our goal is to continue this series until we complete the full length of the Shiawassee River. This week’s adventure is an 18–20+ mile active paddle through another beautiful section of the river.

Devries Nature Center — Kayak/Canoe Launch

🚗 SHUTTLE PLAN:
We will shuttle vehicles to the take-out before launching.

⚡ PADDLE DETAILS

• 20–26 miles total
• Active pace: approximately 4–4.5 mph, depending on river flow
• 30-minute lunch stop around mile 13
• Above-average distance paddle — please be confident in your endurance and paddling ability.

There may be sections of slower-moving/slack water, so maintaining our overall pace will be important.

🎒 SUGGESTED GEAR

• PFD — required
• Paddle
• Warm, dry clothing
• Full change of clothes in a dry bag — highly recommended
• Food and plenty of water for a long day on the river

These are self-supported paddles. You are responsible for your own safety, equipment, food, hydration, and preparedness.
